Charlie Slavík is the finest harmonica player in the Czech Republic. In 2013, he was the one and only Czech musician ever to participate in the prestigious International Blues Challenge competition in Memphis, USA, advancing to the semi-finals. Bearing witness to his exceptional skills and mastery, ranging across genres, are numerous records he has participated in as a soloist. He has performed with Czech and foreign bands and ensembles in Europe and the US.

By means of his current project, titled Charlie Slavík Revue, he has striven to present blues music to European audiences in all its shades, as an authentic style, uncompromisingly pulsating and replete with unbridled energy. He has also outreached to akin genres, like soul, swing and doo-wop. Slavík’s concert programmes feature famous blues pieces and his own compositions.

Charlie Slavík has also performed at the frontman of the Afro-American singer Juwana Jenkins’s band. In addition to giving concerts, he has also been a sought-after lecturer at music workshops. Charlie Slavík is an official endorser of Germany’s Seydel, the oldest manufacturer of harmonicas in the world.
